Omega is yet another of the world’s famous, Switzerland-based manufacturers of high-end, high-precision and high-priced watches, which, over the years, has rolled out quite a large number of such products, some of them endorsed by the biggest names within the sports industry. And that’s exactly the case with the Speedmaster “Legend”, which is supported by none other than the famous F1 driver and multiple champion, Michael Schumacher.
The device uses an Omega 3313 caliber, which is a self-winding chronograph movement with column wheel mechanism and Co-Axial Escapement for greater precision stability and durability of the movement. The mechanism delivers free sprung balance, with date, hour, minute and continuous small seconds hands, as well as a central chronograph hand.
As mentioned earlier, the movement of the watch from Omega is self-winding, but it’s also interesting to note that it holds a power reserve of around 52 hours, which is quite enough, especially taking into account the fact that customers will most likely wear it pretty much at all times.
Another interesting fact worth mentioning about the Speedmaster “Legend” from Omega is the fact that it features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective treatment inside, more or less the same solution used by most manufacturers of high-end watches out there. However, the device is quite a tough one, featuring a stainless steel case that will protect the mechanism from serious shocks. Furthermore, the dial is available in either black, white or red, which will give consumers the possibility to make their choices, depending on the color they like the most.
The Omega Speedmaster “Legend” is one expensive time-telling device, as it retails for around 2,700 - 3,300 US dollars, which is a rather hefty sum to pay for a watch.
